Suggestions

Need to fix the following :
1. 'Post a Job' link is repeated in 'My WeMarathi' & 'Jobs' menu.
2. I could not post a weblink. The system asks me to save the category. But the category drop down does not have any option to select.

Suggestions for improvements
1. My WeMarathi page should be a page which has all the required info in a nutshell. Our Orkut personal home page is a good example. Currently I feel the following
 -  There is too much repetitive info on this page eg. my pic appears 3 times (1 at the left showing me online, 2nd at the centre, 3rd at the right in members online)
 - The info at the centre seems non essential
 - New members section at the bottom on the page doesnt go well here. May be you can think of moving it to 'Members' page
 - There is lot of empty space on the left and right side of the page. You might consider putting the various navigation links on the left side of the page with the search box at the bottom of all links. You thereby free up the central page for more contents.
2. Can we use just text instead of buttons with text

1) There should be a clear distinction between the Wemarathi Homepage & the User's Homepage.

2) When we enter the My HomePage (user's homapage), one can see the friendlist a the RHS....only 4 friends can be viewed there....(showing 1-4 of 10, it says)...what if I want to see all of them at one stance??...therz no provision for that!!

3) Mandar is right...the central write-up is too lengthy and boring.... we should have something very concise. Also, that write-up should be replaced by some more witty columns.

4) The way our Forum has been arranged.....anybody places any discussion thread ANYWHERE.....and sometimes even twice/thrice.....is there a provision to shift a thread to its relevant section? For example, if a thread on Marayha History has been posted in the Career Section, can it be shifted to where it should be?

5) There is a flocking of 'Suggestions for WeMarathi'..........there are separate threads started by Prashant, Madhuri & Mandar....can we club those threads together, for better effect??

6) the entire site is , in all....difficult to navigate ; half of the time is spent in searching for relevant links...maybe we should look into this aspect too.

hi all,

 sorry i was too much busy with some personal duties, but here i am back again.
 First of all , thanks for all this suggestions.. as you should have spents lots of time on wemarathi.

 I have just shifted from my Hostel to New Flat here in pune, so waiting for my internet connection which could take some time.. even though i would try to fix almost all the problem as possible,,

let me take all suggestion one by one..

Change the backgroud color scheme of bottom bar ....
Bcoz currently it looks like copy & paste of top bar....
links in bottbar are fine

The logout button is difficult to locate. Can it be moved to the header next to the button of 'My WeMarathi' ?

Hey Mandar , i think this is not really look good . i think logout button is in good place. but will try to put it in the top most menu..(When i put very topmost menu.. soon)

I Guess we Should Use Orange (Bhagava) Color For The Back Ground....

  really not good idea, current color combination reflects youth colors and we have really had work lot on this design

Is it possible to create Pop-Up menu with sub menu for Forum section, as there are lot of main and sub categories in that section.

This will help to navigate easily through that section

as you say pop  up, i think you mean sliding menu like the one with My Wemarathi right ?
then thats really good suggestion, its high on my list of changes.. thanks amit for this suggestion

 I will fix the problem of weblinks... thanks for notifying me on this... ( i really missed this while testing..  )

 other issues  i will address later.. on... but i think you see space on left and right because you are useing 1024X768  view of monitor, try using 800 X 600 then you will come to know why it is so... ( anyway i am also trying to fix this.. it should fit both the side irespective of Monitor View set)

 about 1. , i am agree , this required major design and code change.. but i had highest priority set for this.
 
 Addressing 2 point,  good suggestion , will try to give a link to frieds page. there only, thanks for this suggestion ami  

3 point , please send me that new write up i will post it on front. that could be done in Seconds as soon as you send me know write up.. for the place.

4 th point, thats why  i have appointed modertors, yes we can move thread from Board to another Boards , Globel Modertor like me , prashant and now even you can do it. i am making you Globel Moderator , try your hand on it , its is really easy to Move , delete, Merge, Locking, spliting thread here.. you will love it.

5the point, i think now you can decide what to do with them, once i made you Globle Moderator.

6th point, Need some time. and suggestion like this.. will surely help us to improve the site..

Shardul, dear.....please make the PASSOWRD changing easily possible. Many of us are losing out on our previous accounts since we cannot memorize the random passwords issued to us by www.wemarathi.com

yes, there is a provision to retrieve the forgotten password by using the "Forgot Password" facility. but for how long can one rely on it??

please  place the CHANGE PASSWORD tab at a prominent location.

The central portion which currently hosts the Introduction for WeMarathi should rather have the flash advertisements we had earlier (Shur Aamhi Sardar etc.). And add a small text on top of it saying, 'PLACE YOUR ADVERTISMENTS HERE'.

This will make advertisers more tempted to place their orders with us.
Shardul please take care of this at the earliest......


Also, Shardul......please visit our wemarathi@yahoogroups.com album ; the photographs of a few of our meets have been posted there....also Matoshree pics and photos of Maharaj. We can add them to wemarathi.com too, along with the captions of WHICH MEET it is & WHO is sen in the pic.

Also, visit the DATABASE link at wemarathi@yahoogroups.com. We need a similar database here too (both lists)......make it compulsory at the time of registration itself....and also, personal achievements and other details...heyy....let's plan this out yaar !!

Congrats for gr8 work.

Suggestions :
1. I didn't understand the purpose behind having 2 logout (one on home page and othr in my WeMarathi Tab). It would be better if we have single exit. Wht do u think??

2. Second one is abt settings like changing passwords,display name etc. Currently u have added all this under my WeMarathi tab. Wht if we added one more tab for settings in these tabs to care abt any updates and these will also help if we added any functionality. In this we can have some color/display theams also.

Have discussion over this.
